IFMA Foundation Scholarship 2018/2019


The IFMA Foundation is proud to announce an exciting scholarship opportunity to deserving FM students worldwide. The scholarship is available to undergraduate (2-year and 4-year) and graduate students that are enrolled in facility management or FM related programs. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to pursue a post-graduate degree with less worrying about the financial implications of graduate school.

The IFMA Foundation works for the public good in support of Facility Management higher education, students studying Facility Management and related fields, research critical to the profession, and increasing awareness of facility management and making FM a career of choice.

The eligibility criteria are given below:

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited institution for a Facility Management or related field. “Degree” is determined (Associate, Bachelors or Graduate) as defined by your institution at the time of application submission.
  • A working student is acceptable
  • Must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2in FM or related courses or document confirming academic study achievement is at least 80% of highest grade scale as defined in the student’s country of study.
  • Applicants awarded a scholarship are required to attend IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Exhibition (WW)to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina October 2-5, 2018 in order to receive the scholarship.

Please attach the following documents along with the application:

  • Include a copy of your transcripts
  • Please list any academic awards, honors and notable accomplishments outside of FM (we will FM academic achievements in the next section)
  • Please list and describe any academic research projects and your role
  • Identify all Facility Management related courses. Include course name, description, course level (100, 200, 300, etc.).  Include grades for each course listed
  • Include a copy of your transcripts
  • List instances when you have excelled in a leadership role; be specific
  • List those activities you have been involved in that required team interaction and communication. What was your role and how did you handle it?
  • Identify an FM Project that had a significant impact on your academic experience
  • Please attach a letter of recommendation from your most recent employer, internship, or from your academic faculty advisor.

Award Amount:

  • The individual scholarships range in value from $1,500 to $10,000 and are awarded undergraduate (2-year and 4-year).
  • In addition to the scholarship value, recipients also receive fully funded travel, accommodations, meals and registration to attend IFMA’s World Workplace.
